This is a 90 minute IN-PERSON CLASS.
Kohlrosing is the Scandinavian tradition of slicing thin decorative lines and patterns in wood and filling with dark powders or colored wax for contrast. (wikipedia)
Spend an evening at WOO learning the basics of this technique and practicing on some factory-made wooden spoons. (Or bring your own wooden spoons and wooden ware!) Students will learn the classic basket weave pattern and then have time to experiment with their own designs.
Accessibility: moderate hand strength and dexterity are needed for holding the kolrosing knife.
All skill levels welcome. No prerequisites.
WOO is a non-profit safe space for training underrepresented genders in our field. As such, enrollment is limited to non-binary, trans, and woman-identifying folks over the age of 18.
