Join WOO for a trip to Groff & Groff Lumber in Quarryville, PA.
We will meet at our woodshop in Baltimore. We'll talk briefly about the process of buying lumber and what to expect, and we'll provide handouts with trade-specific terminology, concepts, quantity equations, and how to read a lumber yard price chart.
From WOO, we'll carpool to the lumber yard (about an hour and a half away) where we'll meet with a representative who will talk to us about their milling and drying process, and just what exactly happens at their facility.
Attendees will have time to shop for lumber for their own projects, or just for inspiration. And we will transport the purchased lumber with us back to Baltimore.
This is an EARLY MORNING trip. We know. 7:30am on a Saturday is hard! But we need to get there early to avoid weekend crowds and have plenty of time to peruse.
Open to all skill levels.

WOO is a non-profit safe space for training underrepresented genders in our field. As such, enrollment is limited to women and gender non-conforming folks over the age of 18.
